A valve unit is a structurally complete and spatially formed assembly unit of a technological installation, of a given level of factory readiness, intended for the implementation of main and auxiliary technological processes and consisting of:

• process pipelines with shut-off, safety and control valves;
• instrumentation and automation;
• devices (filters, etc.);
• devices for maintenance (metal structures shelters, etc.);
• operator/local automation shelters with life support systems.

Valve units can be designed both on a special supporting structure (frame) and without it. Units can be manufactured in open and closed types, as well as in the form of shelters with insulated bases and sheathed wall and roof panels made of non-combustible insulation. Seismicity of the location area in accordance with SP 14.13330 (on the MSK-64 scale). Climatic modification and placement category are assigned in accordance with GOST 15150 and are indicated in the design and operational documentation.

Valve units can be combined with other units or other technological equipment using piping, shut-off and control valves and other components.
